And the vacation is over

Last night was surprisingly quiet. I heard a small amount of booming from a fireworks show, but didn't hear any of the neighbors setting off fireworks. I'm thinking the rain from the past two days put a damper on the festivities. I'm glad that it was quiet...I tend to worry about the fire danger with as dry as things normally are.

I finally did some more knitting. I met with some members of my knitting group at the bookstore cafe yesterday for a couple hours. We all had socks with us. Chery worked on a bag while the rest of us worked on socks. I'm almost at the toe of my second Plum Parade sock. I can see the finish line (kind of distant given my ability to knit for 3 hours or less each week). Linda was surprised I wasn't working on a stuffed animal of some sort, but I really want to finish the sock - I feel like I've been working on it forever. Though I will say that I like working with the self-striping yarn, it gives a visible measure of progress.

School starts again on Monday. I can't believe this two week break has gone by so quickly! I need to get my paperwork in to my company and get my books sometime this week.
