As promised, here are pictures of the step socks.
Pattern: Twin Rib pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks
Yarn: knit Picks Parade in Plum on size 2 needles.
Differences between the socks:
First sock: Started on pink and ended on purple. Forgot to center the stitch pattern while doing the heel, but somehow shifted toe to match up with the center of the stitch pattern, so this socks has 5 repeats down the center of the foot and a slightly twisted heel. Kitchenered over 18 stitches.
Second sock: Started on magenta and ended on pink. Attempted to match the first sock, but I centered the stitch pattern (causing four pattern repeats down the foot) while doing the heel and shifted the heel. But I matched the toe to the heel, so this one isn't as visibly twisted. However, at some point during the toe, I threw in an extra decrease on both the top and the bottom of the sock. These were done in different causes the toe to twist slightly as a result. These extra decreases also meant that I kitchenered over 16 stitches. I'm not quite sure how those extra two stitches (really only one stitch in difference) can make such a difference, but the pointer toe really just fits the right foot much better than the left.
But aren't they cute for my first pair using sock weight yarn?
